Healing

Knowing we have all been through some sort of trauma, it’s important that we practice patience with ourselves and others; Ghana is a place where we can reflect, overcome, review, and begin healing. It feels as if the veil of heavy, thick, cloudy, grey fumes which can manifest as depression, racism, doubt and fear dissipates; one is able to make a more clear connection with the Creator when all of that mess is not constantly weighing upon us.

Some of us have sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, fathers, mothers whose lives have been dramatically shortened by life in the U.S. /UK or other places where the African has been living the past hundreds of years. The specifics do not matter, suffice it to say that we’ve experienced life altering trauma.

In Ghana, the cultural norm is not to display much emotion, especially with regard to intensely private matters -incest, molestation, mental health, suicide, early deaths and other traumatic occurrences. Many people are suffering in silence due to the inability to express oneself. Some simply grow up and exhibit manners of sociopathic behaviours due to un-dealt with, festered emotions, you can see pain displayed acts of sexual “achievement” in men especially, mean and angry demeanor, greed, envy, pride and the like. Alas, some here are unable to connect as they naturally should. . .why?

But, if you get here, recognizing your trauma/pain/anguish/confusion, you are half way healed already. Ghana provides a space of clarity, renewable energy sources, and light to assist along ones healing journey.

How would you like to discover the start of your healing journey, what would you like to work on once you arrive? Think about this, deeply, as you set your intentions on coming so you can work on unblocking your own way.
