I remember going to visit my Uncle Jr. in Stone Mountain, Georgia one December. My cousin and I, both of us from Oakland, California, set off on a walk around the neighborhood.

Well as way leads to way, we eventually realized we had lost our way! Around corners lead to other roads we didn’t know existed, which took us further away from my Uncle’s home (or maybe closer, we couldn’t tell). As we passed a home, we noticed a woman in her garage removing groceries from her car and explained that we’d gotten turned around and needed to return to Mohican Trail. That woman told us to wait while she put her groceries in the house. She came back out, told us to get in her car, and she drove us home. Helpfulness.

Some of us come to Ghana expecting one thing, and instead find the roads get confused, the way cloudy, and the trail unrecognizable. And sometimes we make some poor decisions along the way which lead to serious consequences. But, know that we are here, and in large numbers, which means we need to look out for one another. Ghana Headquarters, Sister’s Worlwide Support, Thursday Night Game Night, African American Association of Ghana, The Caribbean Association of Ghana, The UK Association of Ghana, etc. All these organizations are here and have all gone through trials and tribulations which are bound to occur when moving outside of one’s familiar and comfort zones. Reach out, we will put you in our cars, our homes, our hearts to assist you get where you intended; to live a healthy, comfortable, thriving life here in Ghana.
